Auto Fires Checklist
Check for:
- Vehicle fire; and
- Serious injury or death attributable to fire or smoke inhalation:
- Review autopsy report and photographs/videotape;
- Consider all of the injuries and the origin;
- Police report.
If both of the factors are present in your crash, retain an expert qualified in the field immediately and preserve and document the evidence.
Remember to move quickly on the evidence! Always take immediate steps to preserve the vehicle and any evidence at the scene of the crash. This information could prove to be critical to your case. Don’t waste time getting information from the occupants and any witnesses to the crash.
